Roofing in Waterlooville
A town that grew along the A3. Waterlooville started as a small settlement around an inn on the old London to Portsmouth road through the Forest of Bere. Most of today's town is 20th-century. Havant Borough Council's landscape assessment says the 1938–42 map shows "an explosion of residential development", most significantly at Cowplain, with more growth after the war. If your home dates from that period, any flat-roofed garage, porch or extension may now be decades old.
New-build estates. West of Waterlooville, the Berewood and Wellington Park development is planned at around 3,000 homes, most of them in Winchester district and the rest in Havant borough. Newer homes usually have interlocking concrete tiles with dry-fixed ridges and verges. If yours is still within its new-home warranty period, check the warranty and contact the developer before paying for repairs yourself.
Inland, but higher ground. Waterlooville isn't on the coast. The same assessment puts the town centre on a ridgeline above 50 metres, with Cowplain to the north at around 70 metres, so it's more exposed to wind than the low-lying ground to the south.
Two councils. Waterlooville is in Havant borough. Denmead and most of Berewood are in Winchester district, so planning questions go to whichever council covers your address.
