How do I know a leak repair worked?

Ask for before-and-after photos and a written note of what was fixed. The next heavy rain is the real test — agree what happens if it leaks again.

Tile repair or re-roof?

A few slipped or cracked tiles mean repair. Widespread brittle tiles, failing underlay or repeated leaks across slopes point towards re-roofing.

Should I get more than one quote?

Yes. Compare at least two written quotes that list the work, materials and any guarantee, not just a headline price.

What insurance should the roofer hold?

Ask for current public liability cover and, where scaffolding or a team is involved, employer's liability. Check the documents, not just the claim.
